Folded Journal Spot Swap

I created these journal spots for the February Journal Spot Swap at Mini Album Scraps. This month we had to make a journal spot that had a fold. Any type of fold was acceptable as long the journaling is inside a folded project.

I used two sheets of patterned paper from the Cotton Tails line by We R Memory Keepers. I made my journal spot from one of the invitations on the Wild Card cricut cartridge. I cut it at 4". I picked up the trim along the bottom from Hobby Lobby. I also included 4 tags cut at 4.5" (from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cricut cartridge).

Check out the video below for all the scrappy details. :)

OWH #67 & My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #6

These are my Mother's Day cards for this year.

The sketch is my take on OWH #67. I made a pocket for my tag instead of tying it on the ribbon. I did some sewing on my card for the first time. :0) The paper is some embossed vellum from K & Company that I have had for years!

Heart Shaped Baby Book (part 2)

So, here's the rest of the book. I'm not sure why it wouldn't let me do it all in one post. Oh well....

The photo mats on these two pages are cut at 3.5"x3.5" and is glued down on 3 sides to creat a pocket for a tag. The tags are cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and altered in Design Studio to be about 3" wide by 4" tall. They are white on the back to allow for journaling.

I made this pocket about 2"x4" and stamped some baby feet across the bottom and added gem cluster to the top. The tags are about 3"x4".

This is just like the inside front cover. This is an invitation from Wild Card, folded and glued on the back. The inside is white for journaling or additional pictures.

Thanks for looking!

I used Elmer's Craft Bond Spray Adhesive to adhere all my papers to the chipboard. It provides a nice even coat with no bumps.

I was inspired to create this album by Christina from Creations with Christina. Her blog has some awesome ideas! http://www.creationswithchristina.com/

Heart Shaped Baby Book (part 1)

For the cover I used New Arrival and cut the baby at 2" and the stork at 3". I cut the baby sling, stork, and hat twice. I inked the edges and then used pop-dots to attach the duplicate cuts. It adds a bit of dimension to the front cover. And of course, there is lots of ribbon on the binding rings.

This is the invitation on page 37 from Wild Card. It's cut at 4". I glued a length of ribbon to the back and then tied the extra into a bow to keep it closed. It is such a perfect bow that I hated to untie it! The inside is white so the mom-to-be can add a photo or use it for journaling.

This is also from Wild Card. It is the doily card cut at 3.5 inches."Bath Time" is from New Arrival and cut at 2". I used my gel pen to color in the bubbles and then added a jewel as the dot the "i."

The photo mat is cut at 3.5"x3.5". I stamped the sentiment and added some cute buttons.

This is pretty much the same as the facing page.

This photo mat is cut at 4"x3.5". "Little One" is from New Arrival and cut at 1" with a jewel used to dot the "i".

This photo mat is also cut at 4"x3.5" with a cluster of jewels on the border for some added sparkle.

OK, for some reason, it's not letting me post the rest of my pictures, so I'm going to have to do it in another post. Grrrrr!

My newest set of OWH cards

So, this is my next set of cards for Operation Write Home (http://www.operationwritehome.org/).

I used Walk In My Garden to cut the leaves, I think at 2". Flowers are from Prima, brads from my stash.(Patterned Paper-DCWV Spring Paper Pack)

I cut the label with Preserves. I used 1.5" then used Design Studio to stretch it to 2". I typed the sentiment "thinking of you" to fill the page and then used George & Basic shape to cut a 1.75" circle. I finished the cards off with eyelets and buttons. (Patterned Paper-DCWV Spring Paper Pack)

I used Walk In My Garden to cut the flower in 3 sizes (2", 1.5", 1") and then stacked and stapled them together. I cut 2" tags from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More then stamped them with the "thinking of you" stamp and stapled a piece of ribbon to the tag. (Patterned Paper-DCWV Pocket Full of Posies)

A (not for me) Baby Book

This is a baby book that I made for a Baby Shower that's coming up for someone in our Sunday School Class.

All the patterned paper is from K& Co, not sure of the name. I have had it for YEARS! All the cardstock is DCWV. All the jewels are from the Dollar Bin at Michael's. I need to stock up after this book!

The book is cut 8x8, covered with patterned paper and cardstock, edges painted white with acrylic paint.
The frame is a 4.25"x6.25" rectangle (George & Basic Shapes) with a flourish (Storybook) welded to the top and bottom. I cut a second flourish from patterned paper and attatched with pop-dots.

{Just ignore my husband in the background!}
The tags (5" from Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More) pull out for journaling. (Flowers from American Heritage, Brads from WeRMemory Keepers.) I had to cut the top of the florish off in order for the tags to go down behind the frame.

The file folders open out for journaling and are tied shut with some ribbon from my stash. (cut at 3" from Fabulous Finds)
All the cuts on this page came from Storybook. The butterfly is from the border feature (cut at 2") and the scallop square is cut at 3". I used Pocket Full of Posies paper pack from DCWV for these cuts. I inked them with 2 colors of green VersaMark  ink, because, well...just because. :0)
On this page, the butterflies pull out for journaling.
This flower is also from Storybook. It is 3" high and then squished to about 4" wide. This paper is the same paper as the butterflies from the previous page.
These lift up for journaling underneath. I used packing tape, sticky side up, under the cut-out portion of the flower and then sprinkled glitter on it. (I saw this idea on someone's blog, but I can't remember whose!)
An assortment of photo mats cut at 4.25"x6.25". I used the Poppy (cut at 1.5") corner feature from Storybook.
